Mechatherm International, one of Konvekta’s long-established customers, requested some of our KHDC-01.1 Heavy Duty isolation dampers for their client, Aluminium Dunkerque France, who manufacture aluminium sheet and ingots.
These low-leakage, fully 316L Stainless Steel beauties – with FDA approved blade stop seals and sintered Bronze (Oilite) bushes – are coupled with pneumatic open/close actuators to operate on a run & standby 2-fan system.
They’ve ordered this high-specification product many times before. So nothing to see here.
Until their Mechanical Engineer came back and asked if we could we make a ‘square version’ of this circular damper, to match the design of the ductwork system which was to be 300mm square.
The challenge was to supply dampers that fitted within this limiting square cross-section ductwork layout but still provided the same performance as previously supplied circular isolation dampers.
Cue Konvekta’s extensive back-catalogue of bespoke designs plus a lot of knowledge and experience…et voila, the client’s needs were answered.
Very few companies can claim this level of commitment, technical design expertise and manufacturing capability to satisfy such a request.
